Fluffy Fluffy Dessert CafĂ© in Orlando: Kissimmee’s Trendy Treat Worth the Hype or Overhyped?

Kissimmee’s social media has been buzzing about Fluffy Fluffy, a dessert cafe promising souffle pancakes taller than your dreams. Intrigued?

We were too. So, we donned our detective hats (and stretchy pants) and ventured in to see if the reality stacked up to the fluffy hype.

First Impressions:

The first thing we noticed when we arrived was that Fluffy Fluffy is cozy – in that “packed-like-a-sardine-can” kind of way.

With lines of customers that snaked around the corner and seating that looked like a game of musical chairs.

We knew immediately that we would be in for a wait but we were curious to see if Fluffy Fluffy’s food was as good as its social media PR. So we committed to wait.

Orders at Fluffy’s are placed on large self-service monitors, which give you detailed pictures and descriptions of all the items – but do not give you any information on your projected wait time until After you have paid and your sale is complete.

For us, the projected wait time was 50 minutes – and indeed, it took the full 50 minutes (standing).

Hoping to escape the bustling crowd, we opted for takeout, assuming it might be quicker. Alas, we were wrong. Very wrong.

We ordered a stack of Fluffy’s most popular suspects: Nutella Banana Japanese Pancakes, Oreo Japanese Pancakes, and the classic Souffle Japanese Pancake (with extra fruit, because #livelifetotheberries). Drinks included a Salted Caramel Latte, a Nutella Hazelnut Latte, and a Mocha Latte, along with a slice of Burnt Top Cheesecake.

The Verdict on Fluffy’s Fare:

In terms of packaging, the individually and meticulously wrapped components kept everything pristine so oven reheating and plating were a breeze.

So, how was the food?

The pancakes were good in terms of flavor and freshness. They were light and yes; they were fluffy with nice-sized portions.

The Burnt Top Cheesecake was “ok” and the drinks were a perfect morning treat.

But, here’s the thing:

The food was good.

Good.

Not mind-blowing.

Not amazing.

Not the best we have ever had.

Not worth a 50-minute wait time.

The Fluffy Verdict:

Fluffy Fluffy is a trendy treat, no doubt. The pancakes are on point, but the wait and atmosphere might leave you feeling a bit deflated.

Our recommendation?

If you are driving by and its empty, go ahead and check it out – the food was good and the staff was friendly.

But honestly, you might want to explore the culinary gems just beyond Fluffy Fluffy’s doorsteps instead.
