Hey foodies! I am always on the hunt for those little hidden spots (big or small, fancy or casual), and let me tell you, we stumbled upon a hidden reprieve while in Orlando recently.
Tucked away in a shopping plaza, easily missed by the crowds flocking to “Fluffy Fluffy” lies Happy Lemon. How did I end up here?
Well, like everyone else, after 30 minutes of just standing at Fluffy Fluffy, packed like a sardine – I had enough and needed to get out and get some fresh air. Wandering the little nearby asian markets, I made my way to the back of the small shopping center.
First impressions? This adorable little shop is perfect for a quick pick-me-up snack or drink. Forget the impersonal, electronic ordering screens – at Happy Lemon, you get friendly service with a smile. Plus, there were no ridiculous lines, which was a welcome change from the typical boba rush.
Was this place a culinary wonderland? A 5-star super-star? An innovation of champagne wishes and caviar dreams.
No.
But the food was fast and tasty – and the service was impeccable.
While I had never heard of this place before, they seem to be a pretty big franchise (who knew?), everything tasted fresh. Here’s what we tried:
- Chocolate Bubble Waffle: This warm, gooey goodness was the perfect comfort treat. Imagine a crispy waffle infused with rich chocolate. The flavor was reminiscent of chocolate cake mix – though not the most austere, it does take you back to childhood.
- Milk Tea Boba: We opted for the classic milk tea with boba pearls, and it was deliciously refreshing. The tea was perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, and the boba was chewy and satisfying.
- Strawberry Shortcake: This drink was a delightful surprise! It was like a liquid version of the classic dessert, with creamy sweetness and a hint of strawberry tartness. Perfect for a hot Florida day! ☀️
- Fresh Grape & Green Tea: This one was one of our favorites. The fresh grapes added a delightful burst of sweetness and juiciness to the calming green tea. A perfect balance of flavors!
Overall, Happy Lemon was a delightful surprise. It’s a charming little spot with friendly service, delicious treats, and a relaxed atmosphere. Plus, we loved the board games they had available – a fun way to unwind and connect with friends.
So, if you’re in Orlando and looking for a refreshing break from the theme park crowds, skip the long lines and head to Happy Lemon. You’ll be able to grab a quick snack and be back on the road before your friends have even finished ordering their waffles at Fluffy Fluffy.
